Order Gatherers
An “Order Gatherer” is a business that buys big ads in the Yellow Pages and portrays themselves as a “Flower Shop”. They are really a large room of cubicles staffed with blue haired old ladies that will kindly take your order (by phone or internet) take a 20% cut off the top and then forward the reduced amount to a real florist that will fill the order (at the reduced amount) and
deliver it.

You’ve seen them before at the front of the “Florist” section of your “Yellow Pages”. They have the full-page (sometimes two page) ad. They are also pay for clicks on the Internet. That’s all they are, an ad in a phone book or a web page. No flowers. No shop. Only desks, phones and computers. You don’t recall seeing them around town. That’s because you didn’t. They’re on the 3rd floor of a grungy office building in New Jersey. They count on the fact that you probably won’t see the arrangement sent and that the recipient probably won’t complain if it is sub-standard. If a complaint is made the “Order Gatherer” will call the real flower shop that filled and delivered the order and ask them to “fix it”. Something the filling shop is sometimes hesitant to do considering they made little or nothing on the order.

If you don’t order from us, please order from a real florist, not an “Order Gatherer”.
